Our Vision

We envision a future where every pharmacy aide has access to the resources and recognition necessary to excel in their vital role within the healthcare system.

Our People

Pharmacy aides are vital members of the healthcare team. They work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and are often the first point of contact for patients. Their duties have expanded to assist with medication therapy management and patient counseling.   In India, the profession has a rich history that dates back to the early 19th century. The first pharmacy school was established in Kolkata in 1844. Since then, the role of pharmacists and their aides has evolved significantly, from compounding and dispensing medications to patient counseling and drug therapy management. Later, the Pharmacy Act of 1948 and the establishment of the Pharmacy Council of India became pivotal to the education and practice of pharmacy in the country.    Globally, the profession continues to grow, with pharmacy aides playing a critical role in the healthcare system, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Today, the Pharmacy Aide Welfare Association, founded in 2024, is needed to support these unrepresented healthcare workers.
